MALDIVIAN TUNA CAKE

MALDIVIAN TUNA CAKE:

INGREDIENTS:

2 medium onions
2 green chillies
5 curry leaves
500 gms canned tuna fish, flaked
1 tbsp lemon juice
A pinch of tumeric powder
20 gms white flour
Salt and pepper to taste
2 tbsp corn oil

METHOD:
  • Finely chop onion, chilli and curry leaves.
  • Mix together with the tuna flakes, lemon juice, turmeric and flour to form a thick paste.
  • Season to taste with salt and pepper. With greased hands,shape the mixture into heart - shaped cutlets.
  • Oil a pyrex dish and lay out the tuna hearts.
  • Bake in an oven at 350F for 30 minutes.To check if done, insert a toothpick. If it comes out clean, the fish is cooked.
NOTE: Serve hot with a dipping sauce of your choice.
